The USS Midway (CV-41) is a former U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier.  It was commissioned exactly one week after the end of World War II, in September 1945.  The USS Midway operated for 47 years and saw service from the Vietnam War to Operation Desert Storm.  In 1992, it was decommissioned.  In January 2004 it was moored at the Broadway Pier in San Diego, California.  The USS Midway is currently a museum ship for the USS Midway Museum.
