A Visit to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

On Thursday, December 28th, 2017, I went to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park with some friends.

Magma Arizona Railroad Baldwin Locomotiv

Magma Arizona Railroad Baldwin Locomotive Works 2-6-0 Mogul Steam Locomotive #6

Built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in October 1907 for the Arizona & New Mexico Railway.  In December 1922, it was sold to the Magma Arizona Railroad.  It hauled copper ore on the Magma Arizona Railroad for 38 years.  It was retired in January 1960, and was put on display in front of the railroad's headquarters in Superior, AZ.  The Scottsdale Railroad and Mechanical Society purchased the locomotive in 1977 and put it on display at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

Pullman Observation (Passenger) Car "Roald Amundsen"

Built in 1928 at a cost of $205,000 by the Pullman Company.  The car is most famous for being used by every U.S. President from Herbert Hoover to Dwight Eisenhower.  In 1971, the car was donated to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park.
